CHEM 1014 Fall 1999
- Here is the combination laboratory and InClass
Problem Set for laboratory
during the week of November 8, 1999. The syllabus says we
are doing the Chemistry on the Internet, but during the
first laboratory (week of November 8) we will do Survival
Organic Chemsitry instead. Be sure to bring your textbook
to laboratory this week!
- Updated grades as of Tuesday, November 2,
1999 are posted.
- Next week in laboratory we will be doing a
different experiment than what is listed on the syllabus.
We will do an experiment called Survival Organic
Chemistry. We will be working with molecular models to
see what organic compounds actually look like in
3-dimensions.
- Lecture notes for Tuesday, November 2,
1999 are available. Is it time for an Inclass Problem Set
(in lecture?).
- I have not changed the grades since our
discussion on Thursday. I did find ONE section with
homework scores messed up, but only in one of the
sections. The others are OK. Randi and John gave me new
grades on Thursday or Friday. But the diskette John gave
me is trashed so I can not read his grades, and one of
Randi's sections was trash! So give me another day or so
to for Randi and John to give me new copies.
- It has been suggested that to view the
QuickTime movies, if your browser will not play them, to
right click on the quickTime icon and download the movie
and play it locally on your computer. Try that and see if
it works.
- Bring calculators to class AND laboratory
this week!!
- Here is the link to get the QuickTime (for
Mac or PC) plugin.

- Here are the movies I shot in class. If
you sit on the right (dr. g's), in the center or on the left maybe you are in the video!
- You will receive your Secret Idenification
Code Number (SIC#) in laboratory beginning Monday,
September 20, 1999. I will begin posting the grades which
I have from the TA's next week on our web site. Be sure
to check the magnitude of all your scores to be sure the
values I have agree with the values you have. If there
are ANY differences see your TA with the graded
assignment that was recorded incorrectly.
Need some Help with your chemistry? The
Chemistry Department offers free tutoring in PS023
(basement of Physical Sciences). Check the Free Tutoring
link on the left for the hours. Note that those TA's
teaching CHEM 1014 are identified with the blue color.
Don't forget my office hours are 2:30 - 3:20 pm on T and
R.
