  • Check out the Exam link. New information there...you must know which room you will take your exams this semester.
  • Check out the laboratory link for what is happening in laboratory the week of January 29th. The hard copy of Experiment #1 will be distributed in class on Friday, January 26, 2001. If you did not get a copy go to the laboratory link to print one.
  • Digital lecture for Friday, January 19, 2001 is available as is the digital video from the Help Session on Monday, January 22, 2001. Check the QuickTimevideo lecture link. Also look at the Problem Set link. I'm building video segments of the different sample problems that I did at the Help Session.
  • PS#2 is now available at the Problem Set link.
  • In RPS5a. change the phase of O2 from liquid to gas.
  • OSU Mountain Biking Club Meeting is Thursday, January 25, 2001 at 8:00 pm in AgH201. Pizza will be served!
  • This week in laboratory my plan is for you to continue working on the Review Problem Set and PS#2. I expect all students to attend laboratory this week. If you miss laboratory it will be counted as one of your drops.
  • I've added an FAQ link to the menu selection in the left frame. Lots of useful information there...check it out.
  • Want some EXTRA CREDIT? Complete the form at the SID#/Name link.
  • Be sure to bring your textbook and a calculator to laboratory the first week of classes. Yes, the CHEM 1515 laboratory does meet this week (January 16 - 19). (See the CHEM 1515 Syllabus)
  • Sitting around with nothing to do? We are going to begin lecture on Wednesday, January 17th discussing Chapter 11 in Silberberg. I recommend you review Chapters 9 and 10 before class. In particular, refresh your recall of drawing Lewis structures, the concept of electronegativity, ionic and covalent bonds, bond polarity, molecular polarity, molecular shape (in particular central atoms with 2, 3 and 4 groups of electrons). Check out lecture notes from CHEM 1314. In particular look at;
  • Lecture Notes for Friday, November 17, 2000 and Monday, November 20, 2000: Ionic compounds.

    Lecture Notes for Monday, November 20, 2000: Covalent compounds and electronegativity.

    Lecture Notes for Monday, November 27, 2000: Lewis structures.

    Lecture Notes for Wednesday, December 6, 2000: Valence Shell Electron-Pair Repulsion.
