2001 at 8:00 pm in AgH201. Pizza will be served!
After everyone left class today I realized I needed a little
more time for PS1.8 and PS1.9. So lets still turn in the problem set on Wednesday,
but not worry about PS1.8 and PS1.9. They will be the first two problem sets
This week in laboratory my plan is for you to continue working
on the Review Problem Set and PS#1. I expect all students to attend laboratory
this week. If you miss laboratory it will be counted as one of your drops.
Our first HELP Session is scheduled for Monday, January 22,
2001 at 8:00 pm in PS141. I'll answer questions from the Review Problem Set
I've added an FAQ link to the menu selection in the left
frame. Lots of useful information there...check it out.
The Review Problem Set
and Problem Set #1 are now available.
Currently all CHEM 1515 section 6 are closed. Continue to

Remember NO CLASS on Monday, January 15, 2001. The University
is celebrating Martin Luther King's Holiday.

Sitting around with nothing to do? We are going to begin
lecture on Wednesday, January 17th discussing Chapter 11 in Silberberg. I
recommend you review Chapters 9 and 10 before class. In particular, refresh
your recall of drawing Lewis structures, the concept of electronegativity,
ionic and covalent bonds, bond polarity, molecular polarity, molecular shape
(in particular central atoms with 2, 3 and 4 groups of electrons). Check out
lecture notes from CHEM 1314. In particular look at;
Notes for Friday, November 17, 2000 and Monday, November 20, 2000:
Notes for Monday, November 20, 2000: Covalent compounds and electronegativity.
Notes for Monday, November 27, 2000: Lewis structures.
Notes for Wednesday, December 6, 2000: Valence Shell Electron-Pair
