Students enter the web site on this page. The Chemistry Topics page lists the topics of the course as identified by the instructor. From this page students can click on a topic (eg Properties of Gases) or type in a key phrase (eg Ideal gas law) into a search engine, or access the Assignment page that has been generated by the instructor.

Selecting one of the topics from the list above, will take the student to the Learning Objectives page for the selected Chemistry Topic. The Learning Objectives page contains a list of the learning objectives selected by the instructor for the topic from a master set of learning objectives.

If a key word or phrase is entered into the search engine feature they would be taken directly to that entry in the WebText.

If the Assignment feature is selected the student is taken to a page that contains an instructor generated list of assignments directing the student to resources/tools that need to be accessed to complete the assignment. These could include; activities using concept development tools, reading assignment in the WebText as application activities, and problems.
