The following links are to problems that I am developing that are designed to help you understand content we are covering in class. These are new this semester and are a first attempt. Your feedback will be appreciated. Try them out and see what you think.

The structure of these problems will vary, but the typical example will state a questions that you are to answer. Your answer will be evaluated and you will/may receive some feedback. The problem is set up so if you do a problem and return to the page a new problem will be presented. You can also get a new problem by 'refreshing' the page.

There are likely to be 'bugs' using the software, so if you encounter any problems send me an e-mail and I'll find a solution.

Give them a try and let me know what you think. Thanks.

Problems:

Practice predicting if a compound is polar or not.

This is important to know when we need to predict the type of intermolecular attractive forces that are present in a compound.

Practice predicting the intermolecular attractive forces in a pure substance. (These questions should be attempted after doing the problems on predicting polarity.)
