Graphing Using Excel
I've figured out how to have Excel draw the best-fit straight
line AND display the equation for the line on your graph.
Hurray!
After you have plotted your data youwill need to double click
on the graph itself then single click on any one of the dat
points. This will hilited (highlighted) all of the data points;
on a PC (piece of c...) use the right mouse button, and on a MAC
(yea!) hold down the 'ctrl' key while clicking the mouse a popup
menu will appear. Select Insert Trendline.. and a dialogbox will
appear. The linear Trendline will probably already be selected,
if it is not click on it. That will draw the best-fit line
through your data. Now click on the 'Options' tabmarker and the
contents of the dialogbox will change. Near the bottom click on
'Display equation on chart'. Then click OK and like magic the
line and equation will be displayed.
If this does make sense or it does not work drop by and see
me. I'm around this afternoon and tonight.
