CHEM 1225 Spring 1999
Laboratory Information
- Laboratory Experiment changes for the week
of March 8 - 11, 1999.
- This week's laboratory procedure
has not been changed, however, there will be a
short post laboratory surprise (a quiz) worth
three points after you have completed and turned
in this week's laboratory write-up.
- Laboratory Experiment changes for the week
of February 22 - 26, 1999.
- The important features of this
laboratory are the Beer's Law graph, and the
determination of the slope of the graph so you
can determine the concentration of an unknown.
The Beer's Law graph on page 2-16 will be graded
so listen carefully to your TA. At the bottom of
page 2-15 be sure to show your how you determined
the Relative Concentration of your unknown.
- The only major change in this
week's experiment is in the data in

- Be sure to get your CHEM 1225 Laboratory
Manual BEFORE going to laboratory this week. You will
need the Safety Quiz in your Laboratory Manual. If you do
not have your Laboratory Manual for lab this week, talk
to your TA immediately.
- During the first week of laboratory
(1/11/99) you will view the Safety videotape. ALL
students must view the tape and answer the questions on
the safety quiz BEFORE they can do any laboratories. If
you did not attend laboratory this week you will have to
view the tape next week (1/18/99).
- During the week of 1/18/99 you will check
into your lockers. Everyone must have a locker to begin
laboratory.
- Use the laboratory time during the first
two weeks of class to work on the Review Problem Set and
Problem Set #1. This will be a good time to get to know
your TA.
